Fetuccini with Tomato Cream Sauce

Yummm! I found this recipe at Pioneer Woman, the best blog ever. Mine doesn't quite look the same because I didn't use heavy cream, I used whipping cream instead (because it has a little less fat.) I also didn't put in as much cheese, but it was still so good. Taylor had thirds even! On the top is grated Parmesan cheese and basil. I don't think I like basil so much, so next time, I'll just skip that.

Yes...she is so awesome! The difference is very small. Heavy cream has 40% milkfat and whipping cream has 35%. But that helps a little I guess:)

Oh, and it's difficult to find plain whipping cream I think. I could only find it in the store brand, which is really fine anyway!

1. don't disparage basil. you'll hurt it's feelings, and it's delicious! (pesto may be my favorite all-purpose condiment!) I have TWO basil plants in my garden!

2. i have a recipe for a penne al vodka, that has a vodka cream sauce that is simple uhhh-mazing. You cook the vodka, so it isn't boozy, but it lends a "peppery" flavor.

(Just found your blog, btw. I like it. Reminds me of Smitten Kitchen)

thanks for stopping by, Charlie!

I won't give up on basil. I know I've had it before but I don't remember it ever tasting like this did. I'd love to try that recipe....that sounds delish!
