Happy Valentine's Day

We saw this heart shape (made from salt for the ice) on the ground outside of church on Sunday, February 14th. How lovely!

So many things have happened since I have last updated my blog! I've graduated college, become a real-life 1st grade teacher, I've been proposed to and have now been married to my best friend for 1 and 1/2 years! Also, I'm 24 years old now. Yikes!

I think it's time to get back on here more often...Also I am procrastinating some work!

Today is Valentine's Day. I've never really liked this holiday all that much, but this year I have been particularly in the mood for it! I've been crafting and preparing and planning for the day several weeks before it was here. Part of that is just because as a teacher, you have to plan weeks in advance. But...I've just had the best Valentine's Day and feel so much love. Love from my students, my wonderful and adorable husband, and my awesome God.

I've been thinking about this verse, Psalm 139:14, a lot lately because of a lesson I've been working on for my jr. high girls. It is:

I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it very well.
Psalm 139:14

Today I will take delight in knowing that God's works are wonderful and that he made me with love. I am made just the way that He intended for me to be. For that, I will praise Him!

A few more scenes from my Valentine's Day month....

Heart shaped recycled crayons for my class:
Homemade chocolate chip and M&M cookies for my jr. high small group, LOST night, and general Valentine's sweet snacking:
And heart shaped pancakes on Valentine's Day for my husband:
Taylor, who is a LOST fanatic, gave me these cards he printed and then wrote notes to me on the back. They were so him.:
And I made something that was so me. I love little details and fonts and lists. I saw this idea online and adapted it a little. I made a book of 52 things I love about him and printed them and glued them to the back of a card from a deck of 52 cards. He loved it and couldn't believe I made it. It was so fun. Here is the cover and a few of the cards:

Pre-Student Teaching Placement today!

Hi. Today I was placed in a 2nd grade class for my pre-student teaching clinical hours! I'm extremely excited. I really wanted to teach 2nd grade, so I'm just loving this news! I'll keep you updated on how it goes...meeting my cooperating teacher and the class and all. I start on October 29th.

Animal Friends. The best kind!

I want one of those puppies! Taylor isn't allergic to that kind, so that's what we'll get. Yay!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Except for Christmas!

So I went home last night for the Pumpkin Festival in my hometown, which is the happiest place ever. None of these pictures are from there, but it inspired me to keep up with the Cupcakes and Love blog with all these picturesque scenes of autumn. More to come! Enjoy!

Squersh!

Squersh is when you want to scrunch your nose and put it up against their squershy noses. Does anyone else hear squersh when you imagine doing that? Thanks for the top picture, Jeremy!

a bag of puppies is what i need right now...

The only way I would ever keep a cat is if I always made it wear a frog hat.

I went home today and saw my dog. I didn't want to leave him. Sadface. I'll post a picture of him tomorrow.

Oui ou non?

I haven't decided if this is cute or not yet....
